Message From The President

Dr. Milind Janrao Umekar
National President
Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India.
It is a profound honour to serve as the President of one of the nation’s most esteemed pharmacy associations, the Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTI). APTI has seen remarkable growth, expanding from 9,000 members in 2022 to an impressive 16,000 members today. This association stands as a beacon of unity and strength, representing pharmacy educators across the country.
"True progress is achieved when we lift each other, regardless of gender, to reach new heights of success."
Promoting gender equality is essential for the progress of our nation. As educators, it is our collective responsibility to foster and advocate for equality at every level. It is heartening to witness the growing number of women pharmacy educators making significant contributions to academics, pharmaceutical sciences, and beyond. Their dedication and achievements deserve our highest commendation.
To support and empower women in pharmacy education, the APTI Women’s Forum was established. This forum serves as a platform for women educators to connect, share ideas, and collaborate on initiatives that enhance their professional growth and development.
"Educating women is not just about imparting knowledge; it’s about igniting a beacon of change for society."
In line with this vision, the APTI Women’s Forum Newsletter was launched. Published quarterly, the newsletter highlights contemporary topics and has been warmly received by contributors and readers alike. I extend my best wishes for its continued success, as it continues to inspire and inform.
To nurture leadership among women, APTI introduced the Women Leadership Conclave, a pioneering initiative aimed at motivating women pharmacy educators to embrace leadership roles and refine their skills. Guided by APTI and the Women’s Forum, the Central, Zonal, and State Women Forums have organized numerous programs, including seminars, webinars, and outreach activities. These efforts, driven by the passion and enthusiasm of our members, are leaving a meaningful impact on society.
Looking ahead, I envision the APTI Women’s Forum growing stronger and becoming a catalyst for empowerment. By supporting pharmacy educators in developing their skills and unlocking their full potential, we create a brighter future for our profession and society.
"When women thrive, the world prospers. Empowerment is not a choice; it’s a necessity."
Together, let us continue to build a legacy of excellence and equity in pharmacy education.
Always for Profession,
Prof. Milind J. Umekar.
National President
Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India.
